Corvette enthusiast site CorvetteBlogger recently captured an entourage containing seven experimental Chevrolet Corvettes and two competitive carsâ€"a Jaguar F-type SVR and a Dodge Challenger Hellcatâ€"stopping to refuel near Marietta, Ohio.At least one top Corvette program manager was in attendance, and the fleet included both coupe and convertible examples of the 2018 ZR1 we expect to appear in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.As weve previously reported, the ZR1 likely will be the last hurrah for the C7 generation, with an estimated 750 horsepower locked and loaded under the hood.

Automotive News Chevrolet offers Redline special edition trim on 9 vehicles

CHICAGO -- Chevrolet will offer Redline special-edition trim on nine of its vehicles. Other vehicles with available Redline trim will be the Cruze sedan and hatchback, Camaro, Trax, Equinox and Colorado. The Chevrolet Trax, Equinox and Traverse are among the vehicles offering Redline editions. Sweeney said the Redline special-edition lineup could prove to be a boon for dealers. It was set to unveil the special-edition vehicles at the Chicago auto show today.

Back at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Chevrolet rolled out the Redline styling package in concept form. The first model to hit showrooms will be the Silverado Redline, which is available for order at dealerships now. Reception at the time was good enough to make Chevy decide to bring the Redline special-edition package to production, and it will debut at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. Depending on vehicle, other specific styling touches will be added to cater to the tastes of specific customers. For the Camaro Redline, red hash marks above the wheels will be featured, which is a design element from Chevrolets motorsports history.

Chevrolets hard-core midsize truck, the 2017 Colorado ZR2, is on its way to dealerships, which means your dreams of racing through the dirt are almost ready to become reality. One of the first trucks off the line will be sent to Hall Racing, which intends on using it to compete in the Best in the Desert racing series. The ZR2 features one gas engine -- a 308-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 -- and one diesel engine -- a 181-horsepower, 2.8-liter I4. Its lifted by 2 inches, and its body is 3.5 inches wider than a traditional Colorado. The first ZR2s off the line in Missouri are now heading to dealers by train and truck.

â€œThis is no ordinary apprenticeship as it offers a unique opportunity to work with the innovative intelligent mobility technologies that are shaping the future of the motor industry and driving the demand for Nissan cars,â€ said James McCarthy, CEO of Nissan Ireland.

â€œWe created the Academy to develop the technicians of tomorrow and to help future-proof our business so that we can service the demand for connected, autonomous and electric cars like the zero emissions Nissan LEAF and new Nissan Qashqai,â€ he added.

Applicants can now apply online and successful candidates will be employed by local Nissan dealers across the country before the end of the year and mentored and trained over four years to become qualified automotive technicians.

Apprentices will complete their normal block release apprenticeship with SOLAS. They will also receive Nissan product training throughout their apprenticeship relevant to their experience and ability.

On successful completion of the standard SOLAS apprenticeship programme, the top scoring graduates will be given the opportunity to further their career within the Nissan dealer network. The highest performing graduate will be offered a scholarship into D.I.T. Automotive third-level degree courses and advancement within the Nissan Apprentice Academy where they will receive Nissan Master Technician Training inclu ding entry into NISTEC, Nissanâ€™s world-wide skills competition.

Nissan is currently testing advanced autonomous driving on public roads and the technology that will equip a car to pick you up, navigate heavy traffic and find parking all on its own, and that is happy to give you back control of the wheel, is within reach,â€ he added.

Nissan is also especially interested in receiving applications from first and second year engineering students who may be reconsidering their college choic e, or from students who have recently completed a FETAC course.
